Monday 25th January Balhousie Care Home in Coupar Angus celebrated Robert Burns Night in style with entertainment from local singers, dancers and pipers.

To the delight of residents, staff from the home organised the Scottish event to celebrate the occasion with a traditional Burns evening including haggis and a dram as highland dancers performed to traditional Scottish music. Residents invited a guest along to join in the fun.

Scottish Entertainment

During the course of the evening Robbie, a local piper from Carsie, provided entertainment on the bagpipes, piping people into the room and delivering renditions of some great Scottish songs. We were also thrilled to welcome Scottish dancers from the Gayle Duncan Dancing School in Blairgowrie. The girls performed in our units up and downstairs so that all the residents could enjoy the talented display.

John Mackie from Dundee put on an exciting display of dressing the Haggis, along with reciting Robert Burns.

Community Engagement

All the Residents and their guests had a wonderful evening enjoying a wee dram of whiskey, one of the Residents even joined in with the dancers while they were giving their performance.

Thank you very much for the support from the community, our residents thoroughly enjoyed the evening and we appreciate all the time and effort you gave to made our residents smile.
