The recent spurt of good weather has been the ideal setting for Lisdens 2017 Sensory Garden upgrade.

Local teens Ria McNeil, Forfar Academy and Abigail Marr, Craichie High School spent the afternoon with residents and Lisden Activities Coordinator and Dementia Ambassador Gail Melville.  A sensory area in one of the raised planters was started, including a wildlife pond, kindly donated to the home by Angus Voluntary Action, along with an array of scented plants and flowers and some edible herbs. Wind chimes and light catchers are soon to be added to this.

Last week Care Home Manager Madeana Laing held a meeting for anyone interested in getting involved in the gardening project and from this a Garden Committee consisting of staff, residents and volunteers has now been established.  A regular Garden Group will be held every Wednesday at Lisden, 2-4pm, starting on 31st May and led by Assistant Manager Catriona Short.

Anyone wishing to donate any items for this or get involved in the group will be most welcome.
