We re-opened the care home on 1st November 2017 and gradually we are welcoming new residents and staff to Alastrean. We have started having regular activities and social events too as we get to know everybody.

  • We enjoyed our first Christmas with the residents, taking part in carol singing and festive activities.

  • We had a traditional Burn’s Supper on Thursday 25th January, with some musical entertainment which everyone enjoyed!

  • We went on our first minibus trip with Oomph on Wednesday 7th February to Raemoir Garden centre in Banchory. The residents enjoyed the snowy scenery on the way and looking at some of the lovely things on display before having a warming cup of tea and some cake!

  • We have been starting our daily group activities with the residents, including exercises, news-paper reminiscence and quizzes. The residents have also been taking part in some sing-along’s, and we have been enjoying our Cocktails and Mocktails event.
