On Friday 21st August, we are opening our Cafe/Charity Shop to raise money for our comfort fund. We're also working with a couple of local charities such as Driving Force who will recieve part of the funds raised.

Volunteer support for residents

Driving Force is a volunteer service that really supports our residents here at Wheatlands Care Home. They provide volunteer drivers to come and collect residents, take then to hospital appointments and provide general support. It's run within the local Health Centre and is a much valued service, we really appreciate all their help.

Providing experiences for residents

The cafe/charity shop will open between 10am and 12 noon for residents and all members of the community to come along, enjoy a cafe experience and some good company.

The idea behind the initiative is to bring the Cafe experience into the home for residents who have limited mobility to participate in and enjoy. Often coffee outings are and have been a big part of peoples social life and we want this to continue, even after a move into residential care.

Community engagement

We're all very excited about the opening of the cafe/charity shop and we invite everyone to come along for a visit.  You'll be able to try some of our home baking, have a natter and share a little cuppa.

Also any donations are welcome.
