Betty, David and Alex celebrated Burns Day last week with a morning trip to Wallace Monument in Stirling, facilitated along the way by the lovely Colin and his Oomph transport bus.  We departed Wheatland’s for 10am on a bright clear morning, adding to the enjoyment of the scenic journey to Stirling. Everyone joined in with songs and some poetry recitals, in preparation for the afternoon Burns celebrations back at the home.

Spirits were high all round, as we arrived at the monument and continued on for the day with lots of laughter and fun. Residents were taken to the bottom of the monument via mini bus and couldn’t believe the wonderful views.  There was so much to take in and see, and we learnt that next year the monument will be 150 years old!

A trip to the on-site café was of course high on the agenda, where everyone enjoyed a hot beverage and sampled “the best scones” according to Betty.  A wonderful morning was had by all and we are very keen to see where the next Oomph outing will take us.

Staff and Residents would like to give a big Thank You to all the staff at Wallace Monument and Oomph.  Staff went over and beyond to help make our outing extra special and Alex, David and Betty had a great day. Thank You!
