Staff, residents, family and friends of Balhousie Rumbling Bridge came together to enjoy an afternoon of Irish Bingo and Afternoon Tea to raise money for the Care Home’s purpose-built, specialist Huntington’s Unit.

Thanks to the kind donations from locals, over £370 was raised by holding a cake sale, tombola stall and a raffle and it was left to the residents to decide how they wished to spend the money. They decided on a pool table for the communal area and residents have already been enjoying a game or two!

Care Home Manager Angela Wallace commented:

“We had a fantastic afternoon and were delighted to raise enough money for the residents to purchase a pool table and it’s been lovely to see it already being well used by residents! Our staff are always looking for fundraising ideas and are looking forward to a sponsored walk in August to raise money for Scottish Huntington’s Association.”

Balhousie Rumbling Bridge offers a dedicated Huntington’s Unit, which offers respite and rehabilitative support as well as long-term care for individuals with Huntington’s Disease. They work closely with the Scottish Huntington’s Association to provide a full range of support and advice.
