Many of our homes celebrated ‘Rabbie Burns Day’ in traditional style with haggis, live music, poetry recitals and even a wee dram to toast!

Residents from our North Inch, North Grove, Alastrean, Antiquary and Wheatlands homes enjoyed a day of celebration in honor of Scotland’s most famous son.

A feast of the traditional fare of ‘haggis, neeps and tatties’ was prepared for residents to enjoy together and many enjoyed a ‘wee tipple’ while the tradition of addressing the haggis took place.

Our Antiquary home invited local children to join in the celebrations and residents were thrilled to listen to the very talented Matthew McSheffrey playing the pipes while his sisters Niamh and Hannah displayed their Highland Dancing talents.

Alastrean residents also enjoyed the sound of a live piper, to which many a sing-song ensued and fun was had by all.

At Wheatlands, two of our residents recited the famous ‘Selkirk Grace’ and the evening was filled with poetry, Scottish music and laughter.

A great day was had by residents and staff alike, we can’t wait for next year's party already!
