We were delighted to have two finalists in this year’s Scottish Care Awards at the Hilton hotel in Glasgow on Friday 18th November.

The awards recognise some of the great people, initiatives and projects that go on within the care sector throughout the year and it’s always an inspiration to hear the great news stories from everyone involved.

Balhousie Care were finalist in the Innovative Partnership award for the language project that was carried out between Wheatlands care home and Lingo Flamingo. The second was in the Training and Development category for the work carried out during the Get into Care programme, ran in partnership with the Princes Trust and led by Jozi Stables of Ruthven Towers.

Both finished runners up in their category, however we believe that both parties, along with many other of our staff and residents could have been winners at this event. The dedication, passion and hard work demonstrated on a day to day basis is something extra ordinary and something we, as an organisation are very proud of. Our staff are to be cherished.

A big focus for us over coming 12 months is to successfully implement our dementia strategy and focus of delivering a person centred approach to all those involved in our business: staff, residents, relatives and everyone we work with. It’s an exciting 12 months ahead.
