Balhousie Care Group celebrate success at the 2014 Scottish Care Awards as Bob Dingwall wins Resident Achievement Award and Tracey Salmond finishes runner up in the Nurse of the Year category.

620 industry professionals from across the care sector attended the event on Friday 21st November at the Glasgow Hilton, to recognise outstanding achievements made by employees and residents of Scottish care homes.

Winners of the 11 awards were announced throughout the evening by host, Michelle McManus and various sponsors. A record number of nominations had been received in 2014 and Balhousie Care was thrilled to attend with two finalists, Bob and Tracey.

Mr Dingwall was announced winner of the Resident Achievement award for his contribution to Pitlochry Care Home and the local community. Bob regularly writes poetry about his daily experiences and is often published in local newspapers and recited on the local radio.

Bob attended the event with his son Ally Dingwall and said ‘The evening was marvelous, it could not have been any better. I’m very happy I was able to attend.’

Tracey Salmond - Wheatlands

Tracey Salmond, Wheatlands Care Home was also in attendance as one of three finalist for Nurse of the Year. Tracey finished runner up in the highly competitive category and said ‘it’s an honor to be nominated and reaching this stage is a great achievement.’

 

The evening rounded up with a performance from Michelle McManus who continued to entertain a full dance floor.
