More Information
Luncarty House is an old Victorian style property which was originally the family home of the Stevensons who owned both Stanley and Luncarty Mills. The mills provided work for the local people both in Stanley and Luncarty and the home remains very much part of this local community.
In the early 1980's the house was developed as a residential home, which stands today. The building maintains a lot of the original character features such as original fireplaces, wood panelling in the dining room and main staircase. The lounges still have the look and feel of the original drawing and morning rooms.
Balhousie Luncarty is registered for 32 residents of which 8 are cared for within the specialist Dementia Unit in the home.
The large rooms upstairs which originally held 4 or 6 beds have over the years been skilfully renovated to make single rooms, some with en-suite facilities. There are still 3 large rooms which can accommodate shared occupancy for couples if required.
The grounds which are extensive have several flower beds, a rockery and a hedge of rhododendrons which provide an abundance of colour throughout spring and summer. The driveway to the home is lined with several very old and mature trees which provide a backdrop to the extensive lawns.
Balhousie Luncarty retains its Victorian grandeur, while the care within is provided in a homely family way, by professional staff.
Fee Information
Our weekly fee rates for full residential care depend on whether the resident resides within the main residential section of the home, or the dementia unit. However, as a guide range from £474 (the Local Authority rate) and £625 per week for residents not funded by the local authority. All residents have specific care requirements and residents with higher dependency levels may incur additional fees. It is not possible to predetermine exact fee levels until a full assessment has been undertaken, following which residents will be provided with clear documentation outlining fees chargeable for their care. Charges for extras are kept to a minimum but for example the supply of personal newspapers, provision of hairdressing and so on will incur a small additional charge.
