Manager's Perspective

Caring for people is our passion. Managing that care within an ever-changing world is our business. Our managers aim is to provide their residents with the highest standards of care at all times. To achieve this, we have a strong commitment to keep abreast of care industry developments and to pursue excellence. Your care is our passion.

A word from the Manager:

Environment

Creating an environment for our residents at Alastrean that is homely, comfortable, yet has bags of character and is most importantly happy, is my top priority as Manager.

We actively encourage our residents to take part in various activities and events organised by our team and feel these have unparalleled benefits on their health, happiness and well-being.

Events and Activities

Here at the home, we have regular ‘Church Services’ which are extremely well attended by residents, occasional ‘Violin Recitals’ in one of our resident lounges and regular communication through social events, such as cheese and wine nights, to discuss potential changes so that everyone can feel included about ways to move the home forward. We also have many daily activities and residents can enjoy our peaceful landscaped surroundings for some fresh air or a walk any time they wish.

Our Care Team

I am extremely proud of the care my team provides our residents with on a daily basis and really do feel like we are more of a family unit rather than just colleagues. Our senior carer here at Alastrean has been with Balhousie for over 18 years and, like all the staff here at the home, is passionate about care.

The care, well-being and happiness of each of our residents is paramount and this is reflected within my own personal key wishes for our residents; choice, freedom and above all, respect.
