CAREM@IL & SKYPE
For times when it's not possible for you to spend time with your loved one but you'd really like to see how they are, you can now use Balhousie CAREM@IL or Skype. All Balhousie Care homes are connected to the internet, so you can send a message and attach photographs or even upload a video and we'll make sure that your loved one enjoys sharing those special moments with you, despite the hundreds (or maybe thousands) of miles away that separate you. It's just another way that Balhousie Care shows our understanding for families and friends wanting to be able to keep in touch with their loved one, and be able to use all of today's communications technology to do it. In many homes it is already possible to have a SKYPE video conversation with a resident. As you might imagine, this requires just a little advance notice to arrange at our end, but can be an extremely happy and rewarding way to share your care with your loved one in our care. Please ask the care home manager for more details of how to set up a SKYPE call with a resident. |
Words of appreciation...
- The thing I most enjoy is the interaction with residents and family members. Being part of a team that delivers high quality care, often in the latter years of an individual's life, while trying to promote their independence is a big responsibility. I think it's hugely important to be able to make that time as easy and comfortable as possible. Manager, Balhousie Lisden Care Home
- Now that I am living in Australia, Skype has been a fantastic way of keeping in touch with Mum. Thank you Balhousie for providing this facility Daughter of Resident at Balhousie Alastrean Care Home
- What Balhousie Care staff did was beyond the call of duty and we appreciate the work that made Mum's birthday special, even though we had to help her with the blowing out of the candles! Daughter of Resident at Balhousie North Inch Care Home
