Senior Accounts Assistant - Head Office, Perth
Senior Accounts Assistant
Responsible to Financial Controller
Main Duties
The Senior Accounts Assistant is responsible for the production of financial information and administration for residential care homes and advanced specialist care centres within the Balhousie Care Group. Main duties within the role include:
- Preparation of monthly accounts to trial balance for all residential homes and specialist care centres within Balhousie Care Group. To include consideration for any prepayments and accruals which may be required.
- To prepare monthly payroll for all personnel, ensuring payments are made on time, including investigating and amending any discrepancies. Preparation and reporting of year end payroll for all employees.
- To process bank transactions and reconciliation of bank accounts using computerised cash books.
- Preparation of VAT returns for all Group companies.
- Processing of all purchase ledger invoices, ensuring appropriate sign off is obtained and all suppliers paid by due dates.
- To process sales ledger transactions including invoice processing and ensuring payments are received by due dates.
- Assist in the monthly production of management information pack.
- Co-ordinate monthly review of aged debtors/creditors with Financial Controller.
- Oversee accurate input of financial information within the Cold Harbour system.
- To assist in the preparation of management accounts and statutory returns for subsidiary companies.
- Monitor and review monthly expenses and credit card claims for head office staff and care home managers.
- Assist and oversee ad hoc projects at the request of Finance Director/Financial Controller.
- To understand and comply with the Health & Safety Policy of Balhousie Care Group.

Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience within accounting function.
- Sound knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft software.

- Experience of dealing with local authorities, professional organisations, agencies and suppliers.
- Supervisory experience would be advantageous.
- Understanding of the care industry desirable – but not essential.
