In September 2008, Elizabeth Johnstone, Care Assistant at Balhousie Dalnaglar Care Home, Crieff, raised £22 for CHAS (Balhousie Care Group's nominated charity for 2008/09) by taking part in a six hour sponsored silence during an afternoon shift at the care home. Known for her talkative nature, residents, relatives and staff were delighted to sponsor Elizabeth's silent shift, and greatly enjoyed watching her communicate via notebook and pen for the afternoon.

Words of appreciation...
- The thing I most enjoy is the interaction with residents and family members. Being part of a team that delivers high quality care, often in the latter years of an individual's life, while trying to promote their independence is a big responsibility. I think it's hugely important to be able to make that time as easy and comfortable as possible. Manager, Balhousie Lisden Care Home
- I wish to express my sincere thanks to yourself and to all the staff at Balhousie for their exceptional standard of care and their kindness Daughter of Resident at Balhousie The Glens Care Home
- What Balhousie Care staff did was beyond the call of duty and we appreciate the work that made Mum's birthday special, even though we had to help her with the blowing out of the candles! Daughter of Resident at Balhousie North Inch Care Home
The goal of Balhousie Care Group is to be acknowledged as the leading and most admired provider of residential care in Scotland.
