At Balhousie Alastrean we have a very special resident called Bobby Bear who does a huge amount of travelling, and even has his own scrap book full of pictures and photos of his adventures.
All the residents and staff have the opportunity to take him away on holiday (or even just for an away day). Bobby sends back a postcard from where he has visited and he also gets his photo taken as proof that he's been there. The residents love to see where the postcard has been sent from and the holiday snaps are displayed on the notice board for all to see! Afterwards they are mounted in a scrap book, and the residents enjoy to look through and can sometimes even recall the time they visited that place or country.
All sorts of interesting stories come forth!
In 2010 Bobby has already been to India Italy and just back from Russia.
The attached photo is of Bobby in India!
