The brand new Balhousie Care Group Coupar Angus care home is to host a ghoulish Halloween party today (Monday, October 31).
The home will be decked out in all things spooky and children from the Coupar Angus Primary School and Nursery will be joining staff and residents to try their luck dooking for apples and have their faces painted.
One of the home’s residents, Judith Glenn, used to be involved in stage design and has helped to create a spectacular Halloween display in the home’s foyer.
All of the home’s residents will be invited to take part in the Halloween fun and there will also be a specially themed buffet for everyone to enjoy.
Care Home Manager, Lynda Oswald, said: “Everyone at the home is really looking forward to our Halloween party and it’s great that we have so many youngsters coming along to join in the fun. Judith has been a great help in advising us on our foyer display and it is going to look absolutely brilliant and very spooky for our Halloween party.”
The development of the new £3million Balhousie Coupar Angus care home forms a key part of the group’s plans for continued growth.
The new home provides care for up to 41 residents and when full will have created between 50 and 60 jobs for the area.
Balhousie Coupar Angus care home benefits from the very latest building and construction innovations. Use of natural light throughout and tasteful interior design creates a feeling of airiness and space which combine to make this a truly comfortable home for residents.
As well as the new home in Coupar Angus, the refurbished Auchterarder home has also reopened its doors.

Words of appreciation...
- The thing I most enjoy is the interaction with residents and family members. Being part of a team that delivers high quality care, often in the latter years of an individual's life, while trying to promote their independence is a big responsibility. I think it's hugely important to be able to make that time as easy and comfortable as possible. Manager, Balhousie Lisden Care Home
- Now that I am living in Australia, Skype has been a fantastic way of keeping in touch with Mum. Thank you Balhousie for providing this facility Daughter of Resident at Balhousie Alastrean Care Home
- What Balhousie Care staff did was beyond the call of duty and we appreciate the work that made Mum's birthday special, even though we had to help her with the blowing out of the candles! Daughter of Resident at Balhousie North Inch Care Home
