Leading care provider Balhousie Care Group has taken over a care home in Methil, marking the group’s first operation in Fife.
Balhousie Care Group has bought the former Southern Cross Healthcare home on Sea Road, previously known as the Forth View Care Centre.
Around 53 residents and 55 staff have transferred to Balhousie, which has been renamed the home Balhousie Forthview Methil Care Home. The home is managed by Katherine McCauley.
The modern facility was purpose-built around four years ago and can care for up to 60 residents in individual rooms with ensuite shower rooms. There is also a substantial garden for residents to enjoy.
Graham Ogilvie, Managing Director of Balhousie Care Group, said: “We are pleased to have added this high quality home which has an excellent local reputation to our portfolio and are delighted to have expanded into Fife, which is a key area for us as we continue our Scottish expansion.
“The home was built by Seddon Construction in 2008 and it very much fits with the style of many of our other care homes, offering residential, nursing and dementia care for residents.
“The existing residents have moved into our care and staff have transferred over to Balhousie Care Group, making it as seamless as possible for everyone and ensuring the continuity of care for the residents who live there.
“Fife is a great location for our new headquarters and we already have a good working relationship with Fife Council, so we look forward to building on this in the future,” added Graham.
The group prides itself on providing residents with an exceptional level of care and personalised service in very comfortable and stylish accommodation.

- The thing I most enjoy is the interaction with residents and family members. Being part of a team that delivers high quality care, often in the latter years of an individual's life, while trying to promote their independence is a big responsibility. I think it's hugely important to be able to make that time as easy and comfortable as possible. Manager, Balhousie Lisden Care Home
- Now that I am living in Australia, Skype has been a fantastic way of keeping in touch with Mum. Thank you Balhousie for providing this facility Daughter of Resident at Balhousie Alastrean Care Home
