Members of staff at Balhousie Moyness care home showed their dedication to their residents by getting their legs waxed, all to raise funds for the residents’ comfort fund.

The dreaded waxing took place during the Dundee-based care home’s annual summer fete where residents and staff were joined be family, friends and members of the local community to join in the fun in the care home’s gardens.

The volunteers, including care assistant Michael Sturrock, boldly offered up their calves and shins for waxing without complaint.

Staff hosted a variety of activities including a tombola, raffles and a nail artist and there was plenty cake and other tasty food and drink on hand to keep guests entertained.

Elaine Onyiuke, the Home Manager for Moyness, commented;

“We are very grateful to the community and everyone who made our annual fate such a lovely day. We would also like to offer our thanks to the brave souls who had their legs waxed to raise money for the residents. We are already looking forward to next year’s event – I’m excited to hear what fundraising ideas our staff will come up with next!”
