The care your loved one is going to receive and the way they are going to feel in their new environment is of course of paramount importance to you.
Almost nothing else is more important right now. We understand that. But what will make the real difference to the way they feel and their happiness and sense of well being?
We believe it’s a number of things, that can actually be summed up in these five words:-
People, Passion, Preferences, Processes and Pride
People
We only employ individuals with the right experience -and the right attitude. Caring for others can be a very demanding job. We only offer employment to people we believe demonstrate a genuine interest in looking after and contributing to the welfare of the elderly or the vulnerable.
Passion
Without a true love and passion for caring, ours could be quite a thankless task. Thankfully, we know that the work we do (and how we do it) is very much valued and appreciated every hour of every day by our residents –and their families. Balhousie Care staff are genuinely passionate about the work they do – come visit us at a Balhousie care home soon -and see for yourself.
Preferences
Every one of our residents in different. Every one is a unique human being with a family, a history, a story to tell – and their own likes or dislikes.
We try to find out those likes and dislikes as early as we can on admission of a new resident, and wherever possible respond to them, so that they soon are feeling happy and comfortable in their new home.
Processes
Looking after residents who are elderly, often frail or “challenged” in some way (physically or mentally) requires strong and robust management procedures, accountability and processes. We spend much of our working lives considering how we manage every Balhousie care home and every Balhousie carer.
An active training and personal development programme is run from our central Forfar office to ensure that all current (and often proposed) legislation and guidelines relating to residential care are either met – or exceeded. We invest heavily in our people so that they are motivated and equipped to provide the best possible level of care.
We adhere to strict policies to ensure compliance with all guidelines laid down by the Scottish Care Commission and will gladly go through the results of recent SCC audits with you if asked.
Pride
All of us at Balhousie Care Group are genuinely proud of how we look after residents, how we run our homes and how our company has grown into the largest privately owned Care Home group in Scotland today. Our growth though was no accident. Our board of Directors and our senior management have carefully and diligently planned the development of our company and continue to closely plan and manage our future growth. We have one ultimate aim -
Balhousie Care Group aims to be the leading and most admired provider of residential care in Scotland.
We can ONLY achieve that goal, when every promise we make to you is delivered by us all, all the time, at every home, to every resident.
