Hello, I’m Joyce Chalmers, the very proud care home manager of the new Balhousie Monkbarns Care Home Arbroath. We are all very excited to be living and working in our very smart new care home. Residents of Balhousie Monkbarns now enjoy an exceptional level of comfort and care in truly luxurious and stylish surroundings. Our new home has been designed to an exceptionally high level, providing a light, fresh and airy accommodation for up to 36 residents. The bedroom and lounge interiors provide a superior new level of comfort, and the spacious en suite bathrooms ensure resident dignity and privacy.
Now, from the comfort of their own bedroom room (or from the spacious sun lounge), most residents can enjoy spectacular views beyond our extensive and beautifully kept gardens, over to the Declaration of Independence statue and over to the North Sea. Our really is quite simply the most beautiful care home in the area. This coupled with a very special ethic in caring for residents makes Balhousie Monkbarns one of the most popular care homes in the Balhousie Care Group.
When the weather allows, residents can enjoy relaxing on the patio that adjoins the sun lounge or in the gardens which also overlook the famous local landmark - "The Declaration of Independence" monument.
My staff and I welcome the opportunity to give you a tour of the all new Balhousie Monkbarns. To arrange an appointment to view our home or to find out more about the care we provide please call 01241 871713 or contact me online.

Caring for the diet of our residents and making sure they have nutritious meals is an area where you'll find our managers, our staff and most importantly our chefs extremely engaged and active.
The catering and hospitality services teams at Balhousie Care Group are constantly looking at ways we can improve our food and refreshment offerings. Recently, new menus have been introduced that have a greater content of fresh, local produce. This is part of an ongoing process of reviewing and responding to resident requests for more variety and choice.
In addition to the availability through the day of favourites such as coffee, tea and hot chocolate, our residents are also encouraged to drink a healthy amount of other fluids, including a special range of tasty squashes and refreshing fruit drinks to aid their hydration. This also makes a valuable contribution to bladder health and fitness.
By prior arrangement close family or relatives can join us at lunch or evening time to see for themselves just how tasty mealtimes at a Balhousie Care home can be.

Residents may have specific care requirements and residents with higher dependency levels may incur additional fees. It is not possible to predetermine exact fee levels until a full assessment has been undertaken, following which residents will be provided with clear documentation outlining fees chargeable for their care. Charges for extras are kept to a minimum. The supply of personal newspapers, provision of hairdressing and other ancillary items will incur a small additional charge.
