I'm Stephen Van Putten , care home manager at Balhousie Rumbling Bridge Care Home. The rural setting for our care home is situated on the A823 in the county of Perth & Kinross. Rumbling Bridge takes its name from the strange double bridge that crosses a local narrow gorge and also the sound of the water rushing through the gorge makes a gentle "rumbling" sound that can be heard in the distance. The building was originally a hotel before it was converted to a care home and became part of the Balhousie Care Group in 2005. Its scenic location and extensive formal gardens provide a tranquil back drop to this elegant building. This really is a beautiful countryside setting for a care home and is very popular with residents and their families. Our experienced and well trained staff can provide nursing care to a maximum of 48 residents, the majority of which have en suite facilities to each bedroom including a small number of double rooms. To arrange an appointment to view our home, please call 01577 840478 or contact me online. |

Caring for the diet of our residents and making sure they have nutritious meals is an area where you'll find our managers, our staff and most importantly our chefs extremely engaged and active.
The catering and hospitality services teams at Balhousie Care Group are constantly looking at ways we can improve our food and refreshment offerings. Recently, new menus have been introduced that have a greater content of fresh, local produce. This is part of an ongoing process of reviewing and responding to resident requests for more variety and choice.
In addition to the availability through the day of favourites such as coffee, tea and hot chocolate, our residents are also encouraged to drink a healthy amount of other fluids, including a special range of tasty squashes and refreshing fruit drinks to aid their hydration. This also makes a valuable contribution to bladder health and fitness.
By prior arrangement close family or relatives can join us at lunch or evening time to see for themselves just how tasty mealtimes at a Balhousie Care home can be.

Our weekly fee rates for full nursing care depend on individual circumstances. However as a guide, fees range from £550 (the Local Authority rate) per week. Residents may have specific care requirements and residents with higher dependency levels may incur additional fees. It is not possible to predetermine exact fee levels until a full assessment has been undertaken, following which residents will be provided with clear documentation outlining fees chargeable for their care. Charges for extras are kept to a minimum. The supply of personal newspapers, provision of hairdressing and other ancillary items will incur a small additional charge.
