Caring for the diet of our residents and making sure they have nutritious meals is an area where you'll find our managers, our staff and most importantly our chefs extremely engaged and active.
The catering and hospitality services teams at Balhousie Care Group are constantly looking at ways we can improve our food and refreshment offerings. Recently, new menus have been introduced that have a greater content of fresh, local produce. This is part of an ongoing process of reviewing and responding to resident requests for more variety and choice.
In addition to the availability through the day of favourites such as coffee, tea and hot chocolate, our residents are also encouraged to drink a healthy amount of other fluids, including a special range of tasty squashes and refreshing fruit drinks to aid their hydration. This also makes a valuable contribution to bladder health and fitness.
By prior arrangement close family or relatives can join us at lunch or evening time to see for themselves just how tasty mealtimes at a Balhousie Care home can be.

Our weekly fee rates for full residential care depend on individual circumstances, as all residents have specific care requirements and for example residents with higher dependency levels will incur additional fees. It is not possible to predetermine exact fee levels until a full assessment has been undertaken, following which residents will be provided with clear documentation outlining fees chargeable for their care. As a guide we anticipate that average fee levels within The Dalguise Centre will be in the region of £2000 per week.

Care Home OverviewWe strive to meet the rehabilitation needs of women and men with learning disabilities, associated mental health issues and challenging behaviour, using our holistic, multi-disciplinary, person centred approach. We aim to provide the necessary support and encouragement needed in order to assist each resident along their individual care pathway. Once someone has been admitted to The Dalguise Centre, an individual and extremely well thought through care programme is developed to ensure that they derive the maximum benefit from the facility and the skills and understanding of our expert staff. The 10 private, light, airy and modern bedrooms (5 in each wing of The Dalguise Centre) have all been equipped with en-suite bathrooms fitted with appliances carefully chosen to ensure zero self-harm, and have attractive and peaceful views over beautifully landscaped gardens. Two modern, spacious and bright resident lounges have kitchenette facilities for residents use, and an already popular facility is the ‘Snoozelen Lounge’. |
