Hello. I’m Lynne Robertson and I’m the care home manager of Balhousie Willowbank Care Home in Carnoustie. Ours is an impressive, sensitive conversion of a large elegant Victorian period residential house set in a peaceful and idyllic setting, surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens. Carnoustie is a small coastal town ten miles east of Dundee, famous for its championship golf course. Our very welcoming home is situated off Maule Street in a quiet, leafy and highly desirable neighbourhood location, with a variety of leisure facilities, places of worship, local shopping and the town centre nearby, enabling many of our residents to remain part of and be in touch with the local community. Our wood panelled hallway and twin large elegant fireplaces are among many architectural features that evoke the former grand history of this property. A new modern central wing added in 2005 provides additional 12 resident modern bedrooms, enhancing the practicality and convivial atmosphere in this very popular property. Caring for the diet of our residents and making sure they have nutritious meals is an area where you'll find our managers, our staff and most importantly our chefs extremely engaged and active.
The catering and hospitality services teams at Balhousie Care Group are constantly looking at ways we can improve our food and refreshment offerings. Recently, new menus have been introduced that have a greater content of fresh, local produce. This is part of an ongoing process of reviewing and responding to resident requests for more variety and choice.
In addition to the availability through the day of favourites such as coffee, tea and hot chocolate, our residents are also encouraged to drink a healthy amount of other fluids, including a special range of tasty squashes and refreshing fruit drinks to aid their hydration. This also makes a valuable contribution to bladder health and fitness.
By prior arrangement close family or relatives can join us at lunch or evening time to see for themselves just how tasty mealtimes at a Balhousie Care home can be.

Our weekly fee rates for full nursing care depend on individual circumstances. However as a guide, fees range from £474 (the Local Authority rate) per week. Residents may have specific care requirements and residents with higher dependency levels may incur additional fees. It is not possible to predetermine exact fee levels until a full assessment has been undertaken, following which residents will be provided with clear documentation outlining fees chargeable for their care. Charges for extras are kept to a minimum. The supply of personal newspapers, provision of hairdressing and other ancillary items will incur a small additional charge.
